César San Miguel (he/him), 3rd dan Aikikai

César grew up in Oakland, CA (unceded homeland of the Chochenyo Ohlone peoples), which is where his Aikido journey began as a child in 2000. César met Jan Nevelius Shihan in 2013 and was accepted as a student of his three years later.

Drawing from his deep and ongoing study of ukemi, César aspires to lead his life with gentle compassion paired with clear, firm boundaries. He brings this combination to his Aikido study and his massage therapy practice. Learn more about the latter at inclusivemassage.com.

Evie Lynch (she/her) 3rd dan, Aikikai

Originally from Wisconsin, Evie started training in 2009 at Aikido of Madison. She met Nevelius Shihan in 2012 and has been a dedicated student of his since 2017. Evie is a co-founder of Oakland Aikido.

Apart from Aikido, Evie has enjoyed a lifelong fascination with various forms of creative movement, including aerial dance and lumberjack sports.
